Here's an interesting article from today about where the budget goes on a big Hollywood film - this summer's 'Spiderman 2' is used as an example: Anatomy of a blockbuster

So, is nobody else morally disturbed by the amounts of money thrown around 'willy-nilly' at these films - most of which are ABSOLUTE shite!

When you see the figures broken down like this it really puts a scary perspective on things - think of all the good that could be done with that cash that's just literally thrown down the toilet.

Unfortunately that is the way of big business - 'a conscience' - what's that?

its nuts how much money is spent on the production of a movie (including pre & post)!!!

The studios must see it as a huge credit card... they lend the cash, then wait for the payback!

I could never understand how the actors (or should I say agents) justify asking for such huge pay-cheques?! I mean Tobey Maguire got ?2m for the first movie... and ?9m for the sequel... sure he's cashing in on the profits, but ?9m!!!11 crazy money!

After earning ?9million and then acting again... you think its greed rather than a love for acting? Thats fair enough, but I doubt it.

    Direct/Score/Edit a cool indie film

Hire a really cool script writer and cinematographer.
